I was participating on an exhibition called “Deer Andry”, the exhibition are purposed to give honors for Andry Mochamad, whom when he lived are an inspiring artist.

This exhibition supposed to be his solo exhibition, but who knows how long we’re going to live, just a few weeks after his discussion with a small gallery owner, he have to go at the age of 30.

The concept was, an animal sculpture as the center point, and paintings of animals surrounding him, but he never told anyone about what animal he meant.

the deer was chosen, after his wive found his notes, with a sculpture sketches that depict a deer. so that is why the curators picked “deer” as the theme. and named the exhibition as “Deer Andry”.

The exhibition held in 3 big cities in Indonesia, with hundreds of participants that creating their arts in a small medium.

And my piece, are a smiling deer, done with stencils on canvas.

I participating on this exhibition, a tribute for Andry Mochamad a young and inspiring artist who wished to make a solo exhibition with animal as the main theme, his friends decide it would be deer after a few researches. So here it is, a solo exhibition of Andry Mochamad by his friends.
